Subliminal Messages Songs Reveled

There’s always controversy it is suggested that musicians have included subliminal messages in their songs, however the truth is that subliminal messages in songs have been around for decades. People worry that the bands / musicians are trying to influence us without telling us, and for various different reasons.

There have been claims of rock bands using reverse subliminal messages in their songs and albums. Originally, it all started with Led Zeppelin when it was discovered that there were satanic messages if you played their hit song Stairway to Heaven backwards. Since then subliminals have been found in various music videos, and songs from artists in every genre.

If you were to play the song forwards as normal you would never even notice the hidden messages. Only once you play the song in reverse will the true hidden message be revealed. This may sound harmless..

However, your brain being the complex and powerful computer it is, is more than capabale of recognising these messages and decoding them. This is done without your knowledge as it is your subconscious only which is able to “hear” them. It can of pick up on information your regular conscious mind can’t.

So this information still makes it’s way to into your mind without your knowing. Now this could be harmless if the messages are just put in for fun, but do you really want subliminals which promote:

  • Devil worship and satanism entering your mind as in some pink floyd tracks and Led Zeppelin.
  • Do you want thoughts of a sexual nature being sent to your mind by Britney Spears?
  • Even Queen have subliminal messages promoting Marajuana use.

Michael Jackson subliminals seem harmless enough, he seems to talk about how upset he is, but still, are these negative thoughts that you want in your mind?

The subliminal messages didn’t stop there – everyone from Britney, to Michael Jackson, from Queen, to Madonna have used them, and even Disney has jumped on the bandwagon with their movies and songs! Click here if you want to see the britney spears subliminal messages.

It is a shame that musicians don’t use beneficial messages in their music – subliminals help you in life, perhaps to aid your memory or your learning potential. Maybe this is the future… but I doubt it.

However after listening to some of these songs in reverse there are some really obvious subliminal messages which which are audible. Messages which are just clear to be just a coincidence.

The craze of subliminal messages in songs started in 1967 when Led Zeppelins released “Stairway to Heaven”. people analysed the video and claimed there were hidden satanic messages where the line starts “so there's a bushell in your hedgerow”. People played the track backwards to reveal a suggestion of “Here's to my Sweet Satan”. This caused massive public outcry, and a lot of anger from religous commnities - but Led Zeppelin stayed quiet and didn't say a word.

But the denial was irrelevant, phenomenon of subliminal backmasking in songs was created!

People started looking for messages, while more artists started putting them in their music. Subliminals have since been found in:

Britney Spears – telling people “sleep with me I’m not too young” in her first single.

Nirvana – a message saying “I hate you” in their hit single Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Tupac – telling people that he is still alive.

Queen – promoting Marijuana.

Lady Gaga – telling people to “have sex” in her first single “just dance”.
