Michael Jackson Lyrics – An Appreciation Website

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

We just started up a new comprehensive website that covers things about Michael Jackson, such as Michael Jackson lyrics and Michael Jackson’s new album, that you may not have considered before. We set up a list of the most interesting songs, that tend to be more introspective, less popular, less commercial than what you might be used to, from the artist. The thing is, is that we know that there’s a lot going on with this artist, and that’s the reason why we decided to cover the late pop star. What really brought us to all of this coverage about the late, great King of Pop, were a few op-ed pieces on and about the concept track, “Morphine.” We knew right then and there, that there were things about this, that were certainly going to be foretold in a really good way.

We appreciate the complexity about the late Michael Jackson, by this site. And we’ve certainly compiled a number of great lists for people to easily jump into, if they’re not particularly a fan or even know about the man’s work. And that’s the thing, is that a lot of people have all of these opinions about him, but a lot of those folks don’t know a thing about the artist and the art, behind those headlines. And that’s a tragic failure, really, on the part of those talking heads that you hear so much from on such a regular basis. Because, in the end, there’s so much more going on here, with this artist. There’s a wide variety of topics and issues that have come up about this, that we can definitely delve into here. It’s a deep sort of engagement and interaction, really, which you wouldn’t have really thought there was, if you’re coming into this thing, this situation, relatively skeptical. And don’t get us wrong; we’re skeptics at heart, but this is a topic, this is a life worth appreciating in this particular way.

Thriller By Michael Jackson: A Review

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” – This one is one of four tunes on Thriller that Jackson got sole songwriting credits on. Michael Jackson wasn’t only a great singer & dancer, he was also a excellent songwriter.

“Baby Be Mine” – To get an idea of how awesome this album is consider this: “Baby Be Mine” is one of only two songs that wasn’t a hit single. This is a pretty catchy song to be one of just two tunes not released as a single.

“The Girl Is Mine” – The lyrics are cheesy as hell but I think that’s part of the song’s charm. I’ve really started to enjoy this song a lot lately. The interaction between MJ & Beatles legend Paul McCartney is pretty darn cute. This is another one of the Jackson penned songs.

“Thriller” – Too many people think just about the groundbreaking music video and forget about the song itself. It’s a great song and Jackson’s performance is brilliant. Who else could have made this song work?

“Beat It” – Eddie Van Halen features on this “rock” song. This is the kind of thing that Jackson doesn’t get enough credit for, he was really pushing the envelope of what pop music could be. MJ wrote “Beat It.”

“Billie Jean” – The perfect example of a Michael Jackson song. If you are ever questioning MJ’s songwriting ability, remember that he wrote “Billie Jean”.

“Human Nature” – This is one of the Thriller songs I enjoy most these days because it hasn’t been overplayed like many of the other songs on the album. It’s a really pretty tune.

“P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” – I don’t think any song makes me want to “get down” more than “PYT.” Much like “Human Nature,” this is one of my favorites partly because it hasn’t been overplayed.

“The Lady In My Life” – The worst song on the album? Yeah I think so. Still pretty damn great? For sure.

Does reading about Thriller make you want to learn how to sing like Michael Jackson? Well, you probably won’t ever be able to sound quite like MJ but you can greatly improve your singing skill with Singorama singing lessons which are guaranteed to work for you.

Time to Recognize the Dullards, a Washington, DC Roots Rock Band

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

Washinton, DC’s own The Dullards is a roots rock band with a loyal following that is due to break out. You might recognize the influences of the Stray Cats, Jerry Lee Lewis, or Little Feat. If you saw them perform on Austin City Limits, you would not be surprised.

Guitarist-songwriters Alistair Millar and Guy Benson have woven together a string of easy-to-hear songs such as “Sour Mash and Gasoline”, “The Shrink”, and “29 Times” that are catchy, unpretentious and accessible. No over-production here, just the four-piece bar-band sound.

With some good old story telling, the song “Willard’s” is about some guys on the road, doing what they do. “The treatment is working/I must have the disease.” Willard’s is a place; what kind of place we don’t learn. It is just a place they are leaving. The pace of this song, like the others, is meant for the car. The song is not long, but it’s not in a hurry either. Anybody should want enough Dullards songs to get you to wherever you are driving. It seems to me that it would be particularly apropos to be listening to “Sour Mash and Gasoline” while driving Route 66, or perhaps enroute to the Jersey Shore. With the AM radio on, of course.

From the Black Cat to Public TV, the Dullards are visible on the Washington, DC circuit. They have been in the studio recording; this is good because I have a long road trip ahead of me and I don’t think the Dullards’ catalogue will get me that far.

“Willard’s” is a free download on Comm-Cuts #2, teamed with the late great Eric Caroll’s “At Da Doc” and Some Nashville Guy singing “One More Tonight.” The Dullards are also found on RootsRock.com Volume 1.
