It doesnt matter what you listen to, music wise, you cant fail to have noticed the incredible rise of Lady GaGa in the last year. Hard perhaps because not only has her music done rather well in the popular charts, but she is possibly the years most photographed women and why? Simply, its all about the glasses. Alright, some of it may have come from news stories suggesting she was actually a man, but theres plenty out there to define her choice of sunglasses.
Yes, not as you may have expected her dress sense to come under scrutiny, but instead her odd choice of ladies glasses. It’s not even limited to the press, with video after video showing off her penchant for the weird and wacky when it comes to eye protection, or in her case, lack thereof.
But how practical are some of these creations? Surely these monstrosities are nothing more than gimick for internet gossip or do they provide pointers in the fashion world? Maybe not the office, but how would you feel about entering an office with a pair of her slatted sunglasses on, it would be pretty funny for your colleagues I am sure?
She is so popular right now, the UK government could do worse than to employ her to help spin some of their tough decisions in a better light, hell they could even get her to wear prescription glasses to promote the national health service and she would not look out of place at all. My personal preferance would be to get her wearing a pair of those truly terrible cheap prescription glasses from the 1960s Now that really would be worth watching in an NHS music video.
The trouble is, love her or hate her, she would probably look just as amazing no matter what type of glasses she wore, especially when the kids these days don’t even seem to listen to the music she makes, caring more about the dance routine that accompanies it. Yup, Lady GaGa has done as much for glasses as the pope does for Catholicism.
