Bass Guitar For Beginners – Tips You Need to Know

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

Many people consider the bass guitar to be the “soul instrument” of music. It gives a song life, and if you can learn to play, you can impress your family and friends! So don’t waste any time, and learn to play bass guitar.

Many people are more into electric and acoustic guitars because they’re more pleasing to the ears, but if you want to feel some real “beat” inside your chest, go with a bass guitar! You need to learn a song’s foundation if you truly want to play. If the foundation is thrown off, you won’t be able to master anything.

As compared to other guitars, bass guitars have less and thicker strings. Advanced players say that the bass is easy to play, but it takes a lot of talent and work to master it. Beginner bass guitar lessons are usually easy enough to learn, but you will have to put in a lot of hard work and dedication if you want to master it. Aside from the string differences, bass guitars also have larger bodies. Most of them are made from maple wood and rose, and only contain four strings.

Another thing you need to understand is that the bass guitar isn’t oriented. Other guitars really are chord oriented, but not the bass. If you play chords using a bass guitar, it can dominate over other guitars. You need to play constantly so that you can feel the power. Once you’ve learned how to play a bass guitar, you’ll find that it’s a lot easier to learn than acoustic or electric guitars.

Here are some helpful hints that you can go by when learning how to play bass:

1.    Always be aware of the beat coming from the music you’re playing. Feel it, even. You see, bass guitars are a lot like drums, only in guitar form. They can give any song timing and depth, so make sure you feel it all in your chest.

2.    As with other guitars, bass guitars need to be tuned. But, the tones are obviously deeper because the strings are fewer and thicker. Thus, you need to learn how to hit single notes—and often—as this is essential when learning how to play.

3.    Proper finger placement is extremely important. A note’s wholeness is determined on how your fingers are placed on the fret board. For a holistic approach, you should practice playing the guitar also.

4.    All your fingers on both hands should be strong. You should have strength in order to learn how to play the bass guitar.

When kept in mind, these tips will help you a great deal with your lessons. Whether you take private lessons or use a guide book or DVD course, these tips can be handy.

Buy yourself a bass guitar now and get started with playing the instrument. Remember, if you can play the right way, this instrument’s sound will give any song a lot of depth and even soul. This will make things easier if you ever want to learn how to play electric guitar or acoustic.

Start your guitar lessons right now and discover everything that the bass can do and what it has to offer!

How to Tune a Ukulele

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

Ukulele is associated with Hawaii which is a kind of small guitar made up of four strings. The ukulele is played just like a guitar with tuning going from top to the bottom. It has four classic types called the soprano, the concert, also called alto, the tenor, and the baritone.

The ukulele beginners usually start with the soprano type since it is not so costly and is also easy to play, while the experienced ones who know how to play a guitar generally play baritone type. Baritone ukuleles are generally used by experts and are very expensive compared to the other ukuleles. Ukuleles in Singapore which are made of low quality wood are generally low in cost while some other ukuleles which are made of high quality of wood are costlier. Ukulele has a shape as that of a guitar but can have some variable shapes also which include oval shaped, boat shaped, etc.

The standard tuning which is used in soprano, concert, and tenor ukuleles is known as C-tuning which is tuned to g’c’e’a while the baritone type of ukuleles is tunes to d’g’b’e which flows from low to high. Another common tuning used in sopranos and concerts is D-tuning which is tuned as a’d’f#’b’. This tuning is generally higher than that of C-tuning. D-tuning produces a sweeter tone in smaller ukuleles.

For a beginner ukulele player, tuning the ukulele can be a difficult task to do but practicing more of it makes it quite easier. The music which we hear out of a ukulele is based on its tuning, so the better the tuning, better will be the sound produced. The tuning of a ukulele can prove to be fun especially to children, and it can get them interested in music. Some steps which can be followed for proper tuning of your ukulele include:

  • For tuning the ukulele you have to use an instrument which acts as a reference point and a piano or a guitar serves this purpose.
  • Press the lower G on your ukulele and rotate the button corresponding to that until you are able to match your ukuleles tone with the reference tone
  • In the same manner, also tune the other three strings. Keep playing the reference tone till all your strings get matched with it.
  • Now press the fifth button of the low G string and shift from the G string to the C string which will make a match. If not, turn the tuning button of the C string until it sounds like the G string at fifth fret.
  • Now E string is tested by pressing down it to the C string till they match.
  • Verification is done if the A string is tuned by pressing it to the E string. Adjust the A string as needed until you get it sounding like the E string at fifth fret.

Tuning should be done carefully and delicately to avoid damage to your ukulele. If you do not feel confident to tune the ukulele, as a beginner, ask somebody else who has more experience to do it for you.

Are you one of the many people who has always wished you could sing better but assumed that learning how to sing would be too challenging and best left to the professionals? If this sounds like you then you’ll be interested to know that now you can affordably learn to sing at your own pace and when it suits you best. Learning to sing online is a convenient and effective way to become a great singer in double time.

My personal favorite reason for learning to sing online and with home study courses is that I get to learn from some of the world’s most talented singing coaches. How to Become a Successful Singer

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

You might be surprised to discover just how competitive the music industry is. For the best shot at becoming a famous singer you need to be prepared to make sacrifices and work hard at achieving your goal.

Talent of course helps when it comes to succeeding as a singer. Add a healthy dose of passion and dedication and chances are good that you will succeed in becoming a singer worthy of success and admiration. Plenty of practice and exercise is just as important for singers as it is for athletes. Of course it also helps if you’re an extrovert and enjoy being in the limelight.

If you’re serious about attaining a high level of recognition, one of the most important things to work on apart from your singing will be your live act and stage presence. Although stage performances can be nerve wracking, the rewards are great so you need to get as much live experience as you can. Live performances are a great way to develop a fan base and get your music heard.

One week you could be performing at a local club or bar and the next you could land a contract with one of the big record labels and be out touring the world. It’ll help if you have luck on your side. While it’s a singer’s dream to be discovered, you are well advised to learn how to market your skills and promote yourself.

Self confidence is essential for singers because no matter how well you sing, you’ll always have to deal with criticism. Don’t go out there expecting your rise to stardom to happen overnight and even if your aspirations are more modest, it’s sensible to take things one step at a time. You might start by singing in front of friends and family and then when you become more comfortable you could try singing at a local bar or at small events.

Another great idea is to learn from other singers by studying their performances. Notice how they communicate with their audience and move on stage. Remember that you are not perfect and you will make mistakes. Making mistakes is common to everyone in any profession and the trick is to learn from the mistakes you make to improve.

Still determined to sing then check out this website for more tips about how to become a professional singer

A Band Needs A Van

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

A van is a lot more important than people first think when they are starting out. It can provide them with a cheap means of travelling to the various destinations that they need to travel to but also allow them to take all of their equipment with them too. The real question here is what is the best van for bands to get?

The Panel Van

This van certainly seems to be the best option for the bands that are just starting out. It is a very reliable vehicle that usually has three seats inside. One of the best things about these vans is that they have no windows inside of them which means no one can see what you are keeping.

People Carrier

Although this one is not technically a van it provided enough space for 9 people and can be good for the smaller groups. The problem with this one is that there may not be enough space for all of the equipment which is where the extra hired van may have to come into it.

Minibus

These are great if you are part of a bigger group of musicians as they can carry a lot of people, 17 in fact. However once again they are limited when it comes to luggage space.

Splitter Van

This van is used by a lot of bands because they think it the solution because you can seat 11 people within it and have the room for everything else. Of course this does mean the van itself is more expensive but at least travel costs are down and you only need one driver.

Tour Bus

This is the eventual goal for most bands as these vans provide everything from room to keep equipment right the way up to bunks for sleeping in.

Many bands will struggle when it comes to buying a van outright as they can be very expensive. This is where van leasing can come into it to help you out. Many people are now into this as it allows them to get cheap vehicle contracts. This doesn’t have to be used for vans but also can be implemented into pick up truck leasing.

Guide in Buying a Musical Keyboard

Author: artmaraut13  //  Category: Entertainment

A musical keyboard is a musical instrument that has a set of adjacent keys that produce scales of notes. Each of the twelve notes of the western music scale can be reproduced with the keys of the keyboard by just pressing them in long or short periods to produce different tones. On a keyboard, pressing a key will connect it to a circuit that is responsible for producing a tone.

The twelve notes of the western music are placed with the lower note on the left and the larger keys just forward. These keys are often white in color and so are known as white notes or white keys. The rest of the keys which are not a part of the C scale are set black, hence known as black keys. Different kinds of keyboards also demand diferrent set of techniques to play them.

The volume of the note is dictated by the movement of the air along the stops which are selected by the player. The keyboard may look simple or uncomplicated but you will discover that playing it can be really difficult. The fingers operating the keys are often pressing keys independently of each other, producing loud or soft sounds as needed.

A person who is likely to buy the keyboard in Singapore for the first time must take his time to choose the keyboard which he really likes. One should buy a keyboard which when played sends the signal directly to the brain. A really good musical keyboard is capable of producing better sounding, multi-instrument songs. Always test the keyboard before buying it.

Check if all the keys work properly. Keyboards are generally like any gadget, they get obsolete with time, so refrain from buying outdated keyboards. Normally, the keyboard model that a person is setting his sights on costs more than his budget. If you have a fixed budget then in this case you have to compromise a bit else you can purchase a keyboard having all the features, which is good looking, etc. A beginner should always buy a musical keyboard which is not very expensive because right now the beginner is just in the learning phase.

Several other factors which need to be considered before you buy the keyboard involve the cost, number of keys in it, maintenance, portability, styles, etc. Your choice of keyboard should have a minimum of 61 keys to enable you to play all the different kinds of songs in existence. Although if you are planning on playing classical music, then you should pick the keyboard with 88 keys on it. The keys of the keyboard should be lighter making it ideal for beginners. Keys are generally made harder by placing weights below them. One should always check the touch response that is the sensitivity, according to which if you press the keys lightly a soft sound is produced while a loud sound is produced if the key is pressed hard.

Get the keyboard that has the capacity to be upgraded in the future. Sequencer is a good feature to have in the keyboard because it helps in practicing songs with it. Once you decide all these features, the instrument can be bought from a variety of places like your local market, internet, etc.
